It was a wild night for some folks living in an apartment building on Fifth Avenue between Retallack and Rae Streets in north central Regina.
A fire that was deliberately set in a vacant suite forced two residents of the second floor to leap from their windows onto a vehicle below.

One man is in hospital, after a chase that ended with RCMP firing shots.

RCMP say that around 9:45 this (Wednesday) morning, officers responded to a complaint of erratic driving in Spiritwood.  That launched a pursuit that ended just north of Mayfair, about 45 minutes northeast of The Battlefords.

Storm that crossed Regina is heading east.

RCMP have confirmed there has been a shooting involving the mounties north of Mayfair Wednesday morning.

Word of something happening travelled fast in the small town.

News Talk Radio talked to Dave, who owns Mayfair's local autobody shop.

He says everyone in the small community looks out for each other.

So, local businesses like the post office locked-down their stores as a precaution.

Word in the town is that it was someone the Mounties were pursuing who was involved in the shooting, someone not from the community.

Hang onto your wallet!  Sask Energy is seeking a big hike in what you will be paying to heat your home in the coming winter.  If approved it will cost the average homeowner hundreds of dollars more over the course of a year.

Sask Energy is applying for a two part rate increase.  The proposed changes would see a typical residential customer paying about 35 dollars more a month -- which includes the increased costs for the natural gas itself - and an additional two dollars in the Sask Energy's delivery service charge.
