I feel right now there are two many unansered questions with the first nation proposal does the land become a reserve is the U.S. first nation really on board with this proposal if it cant sustain itself are the taxpayers on the hook and I dont think the idea of selling the casinos is a good idea as they make good revenue for the province
I always feel better about corporate money being used vs. my tax dollars. If corporate sponsorship is willing to pick up the tab, it deserves at least to be considered and further researched. As for selling the casinos (MJ and Regina), my understanding is people are concerned about the Province losing the revenue that the casino generates. A Provincially run casino does not pay tax, while a private casino will inject major tax dollars into Sask. - not only that, but I'm sure a deal could be struck that allows this to go thru with Sask. still retaining a percentage of profits on the new venture.
